Dr. Raven has performed over 4500 medico-legal autopsies and as many external examinations over her 19 years as a medical examiner/forensic pathologist. She works with private attorneys, prosecutors, and public defenders to assist them in understanding the death or injuries of potential victims. Dr. Raven has testified in court, both civil and criminal, hundreds of times. She looks at every aspect of the case and maintains neutrality and is evidence based in her interpretations. Dr. Raven understands that there are many time constraints in the legal system and prioritizes casework to ensure the work is done when needed. Dr. Raven works with a full service forensic laboratory, Forensic Analytical Sciences, and has access to forensic experts in toxicology, firearms and tool marks, neuropathology, scene reconstruction, DNA, trace evidence, etc.
Services include:
- Expert witness services to include review of medical records, autopsy reports, photographs of scenes and injuries, and witness statements. A written report may be requested and will be completed in a timely manner
- Review of medical records to help navigate cases and understand terminology
- Provide written reports and testimony as needed
- Perform medico-legal autopsies including toxicology and histology
- Remove organs and can process for toxic litigation, including asbestos cases
